"Josh Miller and his crew just finished installing our stone patio and stairway and we love it. As a businessman, Josh is very professional while also being warm, friendly and accommodating. He was always readily available whenever we needed to call with questions, etc., and kept us fully informed of issues along the way. Also, very importantly, he always kept his word. He said the job would take about 3 weeks and that's exactly how long it took. He made helpful suggestions about how to improve on our original ideas and the finished product is just what we wanted. His crew was also very professional and friendly, and incredibly efficient. A very nice, likeable bunch of guys, including his father, Herbert, a seasoned professional in the construction business. They all clearly take pride in their work, have high standards and a great work ethic. We would highly recommend them!"

We were looking for a way to keep our gravel driveway from washing away and thought about a retaining wall but thankfully Josh suggested another option that was more effective and cost efficient for us too. Josh was very nice and professional. He also fixed a drainage issue that no other grading company realized and resloped our driveway to keep the rain from flowing towards our home!

We used this company for a project in our back yard and had a great experience. Josh is very responsive. He followed up immediately on my email and scheduled an appointment within days. He also showed up when he said he would be there which is very important to me when working with people. Josh is very knowledgeable and offered lots of alternatives for our situation. He was able to suggest possibilities that we had not even thought about. We plan to use Backwoods again in the future for additional yard projects and we would recommend them to our friends and family.

Had my driveway culvert replaced by Josh and crew. Wow..had me one the next day. Have the good equipment, Deere's. So you know it's a top notch contactor. Don't waste your time with the guy down the street.

I have a land development company in Asheville and regularly need maintenance work done in developments we manage and own. This work ranges from light landscape to earth moving and everything in between . Josh and his team at Backwoods have regularly outperformed expectations and can be counted on to get the job done and do it well. When there have been issues that require creative solutions, they have been able to provide them as well as access to a trustworthy group of skilled tradespeople.

Dealing with Mountain weather here its not always easy to get work done when we want it done but these guys find a way to beat the clock even if it means working late or weekends. Thanks for all the hours fellas and for getting it done right.

Very pleased with Josh and his crew at Backwoods Grading. We have a very steep, very long driveway. Not an easy job!! It was quite a challenge but the end result is great!! No more washout! Thanks so much for putting up with my cranky neighbors and getting it right! Much appreciated!

Josh Miller and his crew installed my septic field/tank and graded for my driveway, including a stone retaining wall. They did exactly what they said they would, and in less time than expected. I'm very pleased with the final product.

As a NC Registered Landscape Architect, I am pretty particular about site work and related services. Both Dustin, Scott, and their crew did an amazing job stabilizing ditches, fine grading, prep, paving, and clean up. The attention to detail and their commitment to customer satisfaction were exceptional. I have already recommended them to several other potential customers.
